Since 1997, owners Colin King and Dean Vogel have walked side by side with the buyers of the homes they build to create houses the new homeowners will love, right down to the smallest details, thus building their reputation one satisfied customer at a time

Colin and Dean take their responsibility as homebuilders very seriously.  They strive for perfection in every endeavor.  Focused not only on the details of each new custom home, they work to develop a strong relationship with each of their clients, creating an environment where the client is respected and understood from start to finish.

Dean and Colin address not only personal taste in the homes they build, but also functionality.  Attention to every detail allows K and V Homes to design and build homes that are truly unique.  To obtain the best results, they encourage their clients to be involved and promise they will listen.  Because they’ve built their own homes, they understand that the details that go into building a new home can be overwhelming and work to make their team of trades and vendors available for advice throughout the process. 
           
Colin’s degree from Iowa State University in civil engineering and Dean’s finance degree from the University of Northern Iowa create a solid foundation for their construction business.  Having won several awards for past HomeShowExpo houses demonstrates the quality, craftsmanship, and pride that are a part of each and every K and V home.  Dean and Colin invite you to become yet another satisfied customer.

K & V Homes was established in January 1997, as a collaboration between two high school classmates, each having gone their own way to pursue further education and then reuniting to initiate a career in homebuilding.

Dean graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in Finance and Colin graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Civil Engineering.

Prior to the homebuilding venture, both Dean and Colin worked as framers, constructing houses for other homebuilders. Today, Colin and Dean use their education, 25 years of combined home building experience, and designations as Master Builders to build quality custom homes throughout the Greater Des Moines area.
