Kirk
Mickelsen drew upon his skills from remodeling and other previous
experience to create KRM Development four years ago. He now builds 8 to
10 custom homes each year, showcasing creative expertise in numerous
features throughout each home and he has never been happier. “Although
I’ve had other jobs, it was always my passion to make home building my
 career,”
he says.
With help from first-rate subcontractors, Mickelsen applies
his passion for detail, like the heavy trim work that earns his company
continuous praise, to other aspects of KRM homes. Superior products such
as marble and natural stone are used to craft creative kitchen designs
and unique tiling in bathrooms in lieu of the typical ceramic finish.
KRM homes even come standard with completely custom manufactured
cabinetry.

he assures.
To keep his designs fresh and stay current on trends,
Mickelsen travels to other areas of the country in order to incorporate
the newest ideas being used in the custom home building industry
nationwide, making KRM homes truly distinguishable in Des Moines. “The
new ideas and designs in both interior andexterior help me stay ahead of
the game,” says Mickelsen.
KRM homes are always built for the customer, with
livability and comfort in mind. “I build all of my homes as if I were
going to live in it,” says Mickelsen.
