and Sheila Stevens are both graduates from Urbandale High
School, we moved to Johnston in 1999 with our four children Zac
, Lexi, Luke, and Emily. We are currently involved in various
aspects of the community. Sheila is on the Women’s
Homebuilders Council and very involved with PTO.
Having an early interest in Home Building is the foundation
from which my business has been built. For as long as I can
remember I have wanted to be a Builder, form building forts as a
boy and watching at the close by construction sites. After
Graduation in 1986 I started trimming and framing and in 1989 I
started my own company TS Construction, always with the goal in
mind of becoming a Homebuilder.
In 1998 I joined the Home Builders Association of Greater Des
Moines and started my dream of becoming a Builder with the
philosophy that quality is always the number one priority in
building a home. People often ask if I build houses and I tell
them “No, I build Homes.” I believe in a hands-on approach
with every home. If you look through a TS Construction, Inc.
home, you can see the craftsmanship and details throughout.
There are many details throughout the homes, including the
beautiful trim work, multilevel ceilings, beautiful windows,
flooring, plumbing, electrical fixtures, cabinets, countertops,
etc. I like working with the homeowners to build the home they
want- the home of their dreams. “I believe in building a house
that someone would be proud to call their home.”
Tom Stevens, President of TS Construction, Inc., serves on
the board of directors of the National Home Builders
Association, Iowa Home Builders Association, and currently is
Past President of the Homebuilders Association of Greater Des
Moines.
